Process

The Capsule process takes 6-8 weeks from start to finish. Our work is very focused, built around a specific scope and a clear endpoint. We bring the same depth of construction knowledge and material expertise as we do in our full-service projects, applied with intention and without detour. The result is a complete specification package, customized to your stylistic vision, delivered on a timeline that keeps your project moving.  

    • Client reaches out to Capsule Team via Contact Form

    • During a 30-minute Zoom, you share your project and plans, and we align on a scope

    • We issue a customized proposal and terms (though you’ll know exactly what to expect, coming out of our call. 

    • Once returned to us with 50% deposit, our work begins

    • Client shares plans and any inspiration imagery they have gathered

    • Capsule Team sends Client Quiz, which includes imagery in various styles to prompt responses and gauge style and material preferences.

    • On a 60-minute Zoom call, we discuss the above results in detail and confirm we’re on the same page, before we begin selections

    • We select and curate materials for your home, considering the inputs from our kickoff, your budget, the ease and availability of the items we’re recommending, and of course - ensuring the result looks elevated, beautiful and timeless.  

    • In addition to selecting, during this time we’re considering placement and transitions, and developing elevation drawings alongside our selections.

    • Design Presentation: on our second 60-minute Zoom, we present your complete room designs.

    • After the review, we prepare a physical material sample package to ship to you, for your stamp of approval. 

    • Clients provide any feedback or revisions on selections, any requests for revisions, helping us understand what’s giving you pause.  

    • Capsule Team integrates your feedback

    • Final Design Presentation: We share your revised design package. This will include drawings and room boards.  We create detailed specs for your contractor, once the design is locked. 

    • Your Final Capsule Delivered (Room Boards, Construction Drawings and Schedules) 

    • Zoom Review with Builder

ROOM BOARDS

  • A slide deck with images of final selections grouped together by room.

  • A preliminary 3D Rendering study, to show you how it all comes together.

CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS

  • Floor Plans, with additional detail and tags indicating Capsule selections.

  • RCPs (Reflected Ceiling Plans, also known as lighting or electrical plans).  If these didn’t already exist, we’ll create them. If they do, we’ll revise as needed. 

  • Key Elevation Drawings (all Kitchen walls, and at least Vanity & Shower Control walls at bathrooms). 

SCHEDULES

  • A detailed spreadsheet with all finish selections, including specification of color, size, quantity, and finish in addition to links for contractors to purchase.
